Mr. Sullivan described this as riveting. I agree. It provides tremendous support for two things: Bush I messed up by not taking Sadam out the first time, Bush II is completely justified in going back to clean up the mess.

Holger would assert that now our previous email topic group has opened itself to the world by having our own blog running. I think that is a good thing. We have a lot of good thoughts to share and we sometimes share them in our own obnoxious lingo that no one who hasn’t been with this group for awhile could totally understand. In fact, we risk a lot of people taking the comments out of context. But, I think this is a good thing as well. We like to speak our mind and we speak the truth at bettershorter.com. Sorry to editorialize.
Is there any way for us to measure hits on the site or track how much third party reading of the material at bs.com really happens?
Not that many of you care what Ted Turner will do next, but I hope he reacquires the Braves from AOL as soon as possible. The AJC has an interesting article on this topic that pretty much says no one has any idea if he will or not. My prediction is that he buys them back before the season starts.
What happens to the Braves on TBS if Turner buys them back and AOL still owns TBS? This must be solved.
So, pretty interesting what happened last night. In case you missed it, the person who wrote the code I used to make our comments section stopped by to take a look so he could help me with a couple of things, the results of which you’ll see soon. He happens to be German. Copied below is the e-mail I got from him after I explained some of the tone of Frank’s post. His English is pretty good, but sometimes it gets a little confusing. Still, pretty funny and a very interesting perspective on our points of view.
thanks for the warm words … i really could argument about the sense of a war or not .. but i am not sure if it is wrth it. i am against war. i just dont think that america is about to decide to have war against iraq. bush cant decide about the lives of thousands … it is a UN thing and the UN should decide … there mustnt be an american way .. and there shouldn’t be a german one … thats it. let the UN decide …
the thing that really brings me up is: american media dont let you being informed about europe, more detailled how the people in eastern germany are. and this leads over to Joshua Meyrowitz who confirms that american media has become political influenced … in an interview i read he says:
“Eben jenes Fernsehen - das durch eine radikale Kommerzialisierung inhaltlich nichts transportieren darf, was den Warenkonsum irgendwie behindert - ruft bezogen auf den individuellen Lebensstil durchaus eine emanzipatorische Wirkung hervor. Das erklrt den eklatanten Widerspruch zwischen den sehr viel weniger konservativen privaten Auffassungen einer Mehrheit der Amerikaner und den politisch rechten Ansichten ihrer Politiker”
that means .. that tv, that has become commercialized mustn’t show content that blocks the consume … he leads on that the more intellectual, liberal americans just dont have the possibility to be informed by TV. so what to do? …
how comes that weblogs start to develop that way like your group does …is there a political discussion in media ?… well to hard to talk about all this in english …
anyway … it was a very interesting situation …. your friend should be aware
that there are no borders in the web,
that he shouldnt just copy the Rumsfeld way
that everywhere in the world live idiots,
but mostly there are enough people who are smart, who care, who are open to the world. well you know what i mean … its silly to write something like your friend posted … it was insultng … yes … but then i remembered all the american people i know who are totally different. whatever …
i really thought about posting at blogkomm.com about this issue … you are free to put it in your discussion, i had to much to say in order to comment away … sorry …
have a good day ….
